Homeschool Themes!

I have been racking my brain trying to figure out how to go about making our days more than just routine in format but routine in content. I want each day to be something different and instead of "just" a normal "school" day I want the various days to be something to look forward to so I have came up with homeschool themes for each of our school days. Not only do I think this will help to shake things up a bit but it will also help the girls learn their days of the week. Here are the themes I have come up with.

1. Music Monday! A day to teach with music. Be it an entire day of singing our lessons to an entire day of incorporating instruments into the learning we will learn our ABC's and 123's to music!

2. Eclectic Tuesday. A day to incorporate ALL of our weekly themes into the lessons.

3. Worksheet Wednesday. This one is simple, worksheets, worksheets and more worksheets!

4.Lego Thursday! Learning with lego's is always fun so why not learn our shapes, letters, numbers and counting with them!

5.Play-doh Friday! Yes, you got it, a day of play-doh fun! There is nothing we cannot learn by using play-doh because we can make anything with it!

I am so excited to start using our new themes. Our first day will be tomorrow. I have no doubts there will be any complaints about Play-Doh Friday..lol We'll see how it goes!

PS. Anyone is welcome to join us on our theme days. I would love to see how everyone incorporates the themes. :D

  1. I don't have themes like you do, but I am planning to try to do the same sort of thing depending on the day of the week. I will be sharing my "curriculum" in my weekly post tomorrow (okay later today). Hope you have a chance to check it out. Maybe from time to time we will incorporate some of your themes. I like what you are doing, just trying to see if it will fit in with our day.
    Blessings.

  2. What a great idea to add 'variety' to a routine! Let us know how the singing goes over.

  3. Thank you so much for the follow :) I am now following you back! I got the dominoes from LLBean (they are on clearance right now- you have to call them up and ask for them...I dont think they have them on the website right now) Have a great week!
