Bloomin Festival a Success!
Yesterday we had our very first fundraiser for Hope for Miriam. All day/night long on Friday people were dropping off amazing treats. And the day of the event we had so much support, our booth never had less than 3 people helping us pull in people from all over the festival to buy goodies and gifts. Nobody sat down the entire time, they were all so busy. Even the couple in the booth behind us helped out, they even got us breakfast! We had 3 young ladies from youth group going all around handing out flyers and asking for donations. It was truly amazing to watch everyone work so hard for Miriam, we feel so blessed!
The community was so welcoming to us and willing to listen to our story. The donation jars filled up quickly , we had to empty them one every 30 minutes. And we replenished the baked goods many times coming home with very few and believe me, we had A LOT of baked goods.
Myself and many of the ladies in the group also had a chance to meet one of the young men who has had the opportunity to go to China and have the procedure. His name is Paden Lane a VERY outspoken and bright little boy whose vision has gone from 20/1200 to 20/350 since having the procedure done. I am so happy they drove to see us! I wish I had been able to get a picture but Paden is camera shy.
By the end of the day I am happy to report that we made almost $1200.00, Making our fund raising total close to $2,000.00 so far. We are still no where near our needed goal but it is a very good start.
Here are a few pictures, we only took 3 with my camera before the festival started but I know some of the ladies took their own. I will update with those if they pass them on. :)
